Business and Made in Italy Minister
Adolfo Urso told question time Wednesday that he expected
concrete news and a reaffirmation of the central role of Italy
in his next meeting with Stellantis executives on December 17,
amid fears of job cuts and a proposed hike in budget funds for
the Italian automotive industry from 250 to 500 million euro
upon assurances it will stay in the country.
"At the next meeting with Stellantis on 17 December we expect
concrete news that reaffirm the centrality of our country in the
group's industrial plan as anticipated in the recent meeting
with (Chairman) John Elkann", said Urso.
Uncertainty over the plans of the Italo-American-French
manufacturer has risen after the resignation of CEO Carlos
Tavares.
